And here all this time I've just been plugging my USB drives in and unplugging them, copying or moving data, and everything this program appears to do, without incident. I can't seem to figure out what this does that current Windows doesn't do, besides testing drive speed...and I can do that with one of the several apps I have for testing drive speed. Why do I need this? It looks like a good candidate for freeware. Sorry for being so critical.

1. Drive Letter Management - Windows has this covered.
2. Portable App Quick Launcher - My mouse is set to single click, so I have this one covered.
3. Powerful Autorun - Windows has autorun, and I disable it. I don't want things running by themselves, unless I want them to. TrueCrypt is freeware. http://www.truecrypt.org
4. Enhanced Safe Device Removal - This hasn't really been an issue since Win98, has it?
5. Honest Drive Speed Test - Well, you can't have too many drive speed test apps, I guess.

Have been using this for a while, as well as its predecesor USB Safely Remove and would not be without it. As mentioned by another poster, this utility is more stable (and offers more options) than Windows method to remove drives, it allows to scan drives for faults and defects, will also list programs that are locking the drive, stopping the safe removal of the drive, it also allows for quick reconnect of USB devices that have not been physically removed.

Support from the developers is really good, although you may need to carefully explain any issues/problems/suggestions, as English is not their first language.

Hum, having to pay and to have a new driver and a program constantly running in the tray just to be able to do things that Windows can do (perhaps more easily) seems overkill to me.

The speed test is not available in Windows, that's right. So what? There are many excellent free programs to test your drives speed. And anyway, is it so important to know at what speed your drive runs? Will you buy a new one just because it is faster?

The only thing that seems interesting in Zentimo is the possibility to see what applications lock the drive so you cannot remove it safely, something that the stupid guys at M$ have neglected. But again, there are free alternatives. I have the excellent Unlocker (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/) installed on my Win7, and it does exactly that, and more. Well, you will have to right-click your drive icon and select Unlocker to see the list of the apps that are still using it, but you will have the choice of the action to take: Kill Process, Unlock and Unlock All. You can even decide to delete, rename or move the file that is locking your drive (useful in case of virus). Furthermore, Unlocker works with any file or folder, and not just with external drives. A much more powerful app IMO, compatible with x64 systems, and totally free.

This is a superb giveaway. I've been using Zentimo's previous version named "USB Safely Remove" for years, and that was given by another giveaway of the producer :). Using this software for USB device management is more stable, faster, safer and enjoyable than XP or Vista's "Safe Remove" procedure for USB devices.

* If the USB device is really "in use", it tries its best to safely remove it, and trust me, it is really safer than Windows own gadget. While i was using this sw, I've never lost any data with my USB HD's.

* You can hide any device from appearing in the list. If Windows' own "Safe Remove" gadget shows a device unnecessarily, for ex. if it shows an internal drive (be it HD or CD-DVD drive), just use this software for USB management and let it replace Windows' own USB management icon, you can show just the devices that are really removable.

* You can assign apps to launch when a specific USB device is plugged/unplugged/stopped/removed! Long live scripting!

My point is - You seem to be going at this Alex BIG STYLE - BUT - I don’t understand why - do you know him / her - are you a disgruntled ex-employee / customer because the number of times you address Alex in person certainly gives that impression.

IF you need to have a beef with someone which is not going to be of benefit to the wider group - PLEASE ask the Moderators to pass your message on in print etc. WITHOUT Post on site ! - I’m sure they’d oblige.

Users of this site - Myself included - read these posts for 2 primary reasons -
1: - To Find Out . . . Is the software any good - does it have issues - are there better FREE alternatives ?
2: - To Learn from people like yourself / BuBBy / Fubar & Mike.

I can be 99% certain that the vast majority of GAOTDs users DO NOT turn up in the hope of following a fresh SCRAP ! - "Who's Punch-Up will it be today ?"

When it comes to Windows & PC's in general - you're one of the most knowledgable people out there - you've probably forgotton more than I could hope to KNOW !!! - I used to enjoy reading every one of your posts - before you started getting personal - BECAUSE I WAS LEARNING FROM YOU !!! - Call me crazy but I thought that was the reason you were posting. - Now it seems - I was wrong.

I understand you are one of the Moderators - IF someone else had been laying into you in the same way - would you have put it up ? - I've had posts refused BECAUSE I WAS THANKING PEOPLE IN PERSON - but it seems if I'd been slamming them - I'd have had no problem.

We're back to the age old question - "WHO watches the watchers ?" - WHO Moderates your posts to allow susch stuff through ? - You even ended up having a go about ATi & nVidea - WHY ? Mike never even mentioned them here today ? - IF I'd done that - I'd have been refused for being OFF TOPIC !!!

While it's OK to be critical of a comment made because you have a different opinion - the other person's opinion is just as valid & has every bit as much right to be on the web site !

Comments like Fubar's today are more likely to give his future posts LESS credability to those who "Met" him for the first time today - unfair BUT TRUE !!!

Please you guys - A lot of us check these posts - top to bottom every day & we want to feel better by the end - NOT WORSE !

Maybe you could have a seperate page - like I've seen on other Group Sites - A Sounding Off Page - where that is the only page that these sorts of comments are allowed - almost encouraged - BUT that way - we don't have to see it by default - we'd have to purposely go to view the page !

I've only ever wanted what's best for this site & it's users.

Anyway - That's my thoughts - for what they're worth !
