* (Portable) Xinorbis (==> My Personal First Choice)
Freaking awesome FREE HD, folder and storage analyser and comparer which gives users a complete overview on the contents of their hard drives, by using a sophisticated mix of tables, tree displays and graphs. It's able to analyse the content of any kind of drive out there (HD/SSD, folder or network folder/share, external FireWire or USB drive, memory card etc...), combining any number of the above into a single scan, in order to produce a final report from it.
Reports can be produced in the following formats:
- HTML format (with graphs)
- CSV (all files and properties or user-customisable summary)
- Text (all files and properties or user-customisable summary)
- Tree (a textual representation of the structure of scan folder)
- XML (all files and properties or user-customisable summary)
It definitely outclasses this GAOTD 10 times out of 10, despite being FREE!

Now the question is: why the above more powerful tools (see Xinorbis) are FREE and this poorer GAOTD is not?? LOL!
HINT to this GAOTD's developer ==> How about focusing on different kind of apps?
My 2 cents.....
So far all the comments are about other similar applications. Come on guys play the game if you want to comment then try the software and then post a constructive comment. I'll give this a try and post my comment after I've used it for a while.
Well I DID install it and it is NOTHING compared to "windirstat".
It has one redeeming feature - they called it 1-abc so it was at the top of my installed programs and was VERY EASY TO DELETE.
Very useful! But TreeSize has a free version, can even look into hidden and system folders, integrates in windows explorer and has a clearly structured interface that doesn't waste space with useless logo.
As a mid-knowledge computer user I rely upon the real savvy guys out there to use these programme and then (Only then) to make positive or negative comments. That is the least they can do to be fair to the software provider. If having tried it and they know of a better free version then that is a great help to us with less knowledge.
