What happens after the 1 year license expire? Does the program stop working, or is it just getting no further updates?

Basically it stops working as it reverts to the "Trial" version. My old copy from here had expired and that is what I got when I loaded it up. Stated I could download up to 3 videos in the trial mode.

does anyone uses jdownloader, and has a direct comparison with this one?
as far as things are, i have been using jdownloader for the last 10 years, it does its job perfectly, and its free, but i am always curious about other (especially if they usually want money for it alternatives!

I've been using JDownloader for about 12 months. Works well never a problem.
It also gives Subtitles when they are available on each movie.
Looking forward to using AnyVid, heard positive comments about it.
