A simple note-taking software, pretty nice. There are some minor design flaws here and there, but nothing radical.
That is, until an RSS window pops up.
Why so? Because there is no close button.
The only way to fix this is to turn off the RSS itself in the options, I'm surprised that you haven't discovered this flaw yet.
But, it gets all the core functions right. I like it. But as someone said above, Smart Diary Suite is the better deal here if your looking for something much more integrated and in-depth.
I have a little piece of software that out does this one by a billion times. It is called efficient diary and can be found at efficientdiary.com It is FREE and also has a lot and I mean a lot of functions, which beats this one hands down. Nice try GAOTD, but better luck next time. They have both the FREE and PRO paid versions, but FREE does it all just as good. I cannot live without efficientdiary.
The idea of integrating RSS function and user-based management policy are cool. However, one bad thing is that I haven't found a place to import my contacts from an outlook *.csv file. Thus if you want to use the contact function in this software, you will have to type in all of your contacts info one by one... That's really a nightmare... All in all, I don't think it's better than Smart Diary Suite, which if offered in GAOTD months ago, after comparing all the other facets. (such as the interface, the number of features, etc.)
There's a close button on MY RSS window in this program. Not sure what #3 meant.
IMHO, the purpose of a program like this is to organize your notes into something that you can find later.
Evidently, the designers of this program do not agree because, other than establishing some questionable categories, there's little organization here. Apparently, the concept is to just dump everything into one program and hope that you can find it later. Doesn't suit MY needs.
The RSS reader was fairly handy as long as you didn't select "more details", which brought up the built-in browser to the RSS page; complete with those continual error message that pop up. Sigh.
The only reason that this thing has lived more than 5 minutes on my system is that I took time to write this warning to others before I whacked it.
Alternatives? There are a bunch of different types of freeware note-taking so it depends upon your preference of the type. Me, I like Keynote NF (there's an older, abandoned program called just Keynote. Make sure you get the NF version if you try it). It's quite simple, with a tree structure kind of like TreePad but it works, it's quite handy, and it is free.
Unnecessary complex mode of registration. Installed OK on Windows 7 64 bit, but graphics not showing correctly.
Had a quick look and decided it was not required. Wondering later if I had been hasty, I installed it again.
Graphics still incorrect, but OK when re-starting. Played with it for a while and discovered the Help text was not all included in the window, even when expanding the window to maximise on a 22” monitor.
Decided I was right the first time, and uninstalled it again – permanently!
Pretty poor software in my opinion, there are dozens are far better diary/note-taking/reminder programs around. (024 Reminder, Mozilla Sunbird, to name just two).
si, refait le deux fois, 1 ere fois, raté, deuxième fois gagné
