I don't think the setup instructions are accurate. It appears that the software is pre-registered to Giveaway of the Day. There is no option to register within the software that I can find.
There are many macro recording tools available, but this one is the one I've been using for years. Thanks for the free copy, Gold Solution.
The interface is spartan, and this tool seems made for more technical users. It could be made easier to use, but most people who would think of using macros will probably find this very easy to use.
One suggestion for those trying this for the first time - When recording macros, try to use the mouse as little as possible. If you have to edit the macro, you'll find a lot of mouse movement recorded that may be confusing to sort through. If you use keyboard shortcuts as much as possible, the recorded macro will be easier to follow.
Thanks again.
I tried a few of these programs years ago, and as Jim W (#1) points out, the big downside comes when editing a macro since instructions are hard to find between all the mousemoves.
Most likely you end up frustrated since there is no way you can trace which event happens where in the file (unless you perfectly remember what you recorded), so there is no easy way to use searches within your macros. Editing a macro weeks or months later therefore is a disaster.
But, once you start editing macros, you most likely have at least a bit of programming skills, even if that means your knowledge is limited to "Hello World".
That is enough to start out with Autohotkey, a scripting language that isn't hard to learn, yet very powerful.
ps. I am in no way affiliated with this program or it's community.
Pros:
Easy to use. Instructions are almost unnecessary. Effective way to automate repetitive tasks. As good as ghostmouse!
Cons:
Difficult to stop or pause.
Sometimes freezed screen while recording, making recording a macro impossible.
If you happen to be using windows 8 the mouse movement function sometimes not work.
Conclusion
If you need a entire record, you can try this one. If not, just use some normal screen recorder.
I had this program before and is easy to record, however, if you change the screen resolution or you zoom in or out or use it on a network, it will either freeze or stop functioning in the middle of the execution of the macro when running and a hard reboot will be needed. I lost so much time and frustration with it and at the end uninstalled it forever.
I paid full price for this program five months ago. Using it in Windows 7 64 bit. I can say it works great. I run a few macros, and use two monitors. Flawless so far.
The only thing is that the developer promised to update it for windows 8 and I don't think it will run on that yet. I am surprised they have not did a windows 8 version yet.
Ne fonctionne pas sous XP. Installé et réinstallé deux fois, il gèle l'écran et on est obligé de tuer la tache.
