Hide Files is an easy to use program to protect your sensitive information from being seen or accessed. It can easily hide any files, folders or even USB drives and keep them safe with a password.

This software makes your files inaccessible and only allows you to unlock with the correct password. When you launch the application for the first time, you must provide a master password, which will need to be entered every time you launch it in the future.

Hide Files is a lightweight app that lets you add files/folders to the program's window, as in the screenshot above on this page. When you select a file/folder and click the Lock button the selected files/folders are copied to a database in a folder in C:\ and the originals are deleted. Encryption is available with the app advising that it's slow.

Most file/folder hiding apps add a driver that prevents Windows from seeing or displaying them. However they're visible to someone booting the PC to a USB stick/drive running Windows, WinPE, Linux etc., *IF* they know to look. That is not an issue with Hide Files. If you want a more secure solution check out VeraCrypt [veracrypt.fr], which lets you encrypt a VHD [Virtual Hard Disk], a single file that can be stored pretty much anywhere.
