So much easier to comment when the software is good and where the company is clear about who it is and when the website is well-written.
Downloaded, installed, and registered on Win 7 Pro easily.
I did not have an immediate need, so I popped in some existing USBs and let the software do the work. It easily found a bunch of stuff and offered to recover it. Organization of the files was easy as well, giving a tree view, and also organizing files by type. (There is a typo in a pop up where "appreciated" is the correct spelling.)
I would suggest leaving some screen space for previewing images (and other files types if possible) rather than having to click to preview.
I have tried a bunch of recovery software before, including free stuff, but think this one did a thorough job and has a simple, easy-to-use interface. One click to scan, a few clicks to find what you want, and then one click to recover.
Since there is also a free version that will recover up to 2MB, commenting on the price is more challenging. I suppose $40 might not be too much to pay if you have lost files that must be recovered, especially if there are photos on the card!
Thanks GAOTD.
AVG Resident Shield Alert
Perhaps if I uninstalled the giveaway two days ago (Doronix Math Toolbox 1.0) it will solve the problem?
I cured a similar situation some times ago by uninstalling the previous giveaway program.
The problem then had to do with a new install shield.
Please go back to the old install shield!

Dear Ingvar and other AVG users.
We have updated the wrapper and added digital signature. It has allowed us to sort out the problems with security tools you (and we mean our visitors here) experienced before.
Though the certificate is trusted by Microsoft, Symantec and Agnitum, AVG is returning false alarm. We have already contacted the AVG developers and are waiting for being approved. Hopefully it will happen soon, but you never know how long it may take.
Considering this if you trust GOTD team and the Developer of current offer, please disable AVG before installation. In case you don't feel like turning the security apps off (and it is totally understandable), we will appreciate it if you give us (and AVG team) a little bit more time to fix the issue.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

It doesn't say anything here about USB devices, but when you launch the software it says to "insert a card or USB drive". I tried with three separate USB drives from three different manufacturers and the program couldn't "see" any of them. Sorry, don't have a memory card handy, can't say how well that works.
Installed and registered with no problems. I had a 8GB SD card, which was completely erased after I unplugged it incorrect. That was actually a great loss, 'cause all my pics from our trekking tour to Nepal was gone in a flash second. After a scanning with this tool, I was offered to "reclaim" the original content, and of course I'm grateful for that. In my case the program worked just fine. However, I think, the price is set much to high. Perhaps, there's freeware, that does the same job, but I couldn't find the right one. Thanks a lot to iCare and not least the team behind GAOTD. Greetz from Denmark.
Thanks to iCare Recovery Software Ltd + GOTD.
Tested the software.
There are serious flaws in this software.
It took 5min to read a 2GB SD card.
And found 1092 files.
I put in a card with many existing images that were not deleted. This approximates a real life test where you accidentally deleted some photos in a card.
The "results" after the check just showed me a long list of files. There is no separate indication as to which was not deleted (i.e. no need to recover those) and what was deleted (you may want to recover some of those. This is very bad.
The preview feature works on a per file basis. So I had 1092 files in the card and I have to preview each one to check one by one.
There should be a small thumbnail next to each filename so you can see whether it is the one you want to recover.
The "Help File" on pressing F1 was clearly for another software, namely: iCare Data Recovery Software
It is completely unsuitable for this software. Someone just dumped in the wrong thing at the last minute. Like throwing in a Ford Fiesta engine into a Ford Mondeo and expecting the car to move.
There is no explanation of what the icon with a plus on a folder means and there is no icon tip when you mouse over it. Similarly for the icon with a minus on a folder.
reconnait très bien mon disque dur externe, mais ne vois pas les clé usb avec carte photo dedans , ou simplement la carte mémoire.Bon logiciel pour récupérer les fichiers perdu, mais pas pour les cartes mémoire.

Dear users,
we contacted the Developer regarding registration issue several hours ago, but haven't got any answer still. Maybe it is difference in time zones to blame.
We will keep you up-to-date.
