Well, at first I thought: woh, finally a very useful app which cannot be replaced easily with FREE alternatives....but it's NOT!
Why? Because for mysterious reasons it doesn't support ZIP files encrypted with AES-256 algorithm, which is the most common chiper used to protect ZIP & PDF files.
So in my view this app is pretty much USELESS and damn expensive, taking into account the limited use it offers to its users.
THUMBS DOWN from me!!
BEST (and BETTER) FREE ALTERNATIVES (just pay attention while installing them, since most of them are Ad supported with bundled crapware!)

Used this before.
I have a file I rar'ed and password protected as what I call
a vault for private text and word files.
Just in case the feds come er snooping.
Seriously, no bad stuff.
I protected it with just letters and numbers, 16 in length.
I ran the program list here for 5 months solid day-and-night.
Still didn't find the password.
However if you uses short passwords, maybe 5 or 6 characters long,
then maybe it will work.
I am trying the give away today and will run it for 6 months.

The only time I managed to find the password of a zip file was when I knew the contents of one of the files. The program I use would take the encrypted file and the un-encrypted file and calculate the three encryption keys.
It would also estimate the length of time to crack a password depending upon its length, computers were slower then and single core, however if memory serves me correctly a 16 digit password using the maximum range of characters would take thousands of years!
I do not believe it is in business any more nor are many of the others of a similar type, they failed because computers are not powerful enough for anything but a simple password.

Bien, bien...
J'ai installé sans problème ce logiciel hier soir, pensant que j'avais enfin la solution pour récupérer tout un tas de photos dans 2 fichiers .zip protégés par mot de passe (mot de passe oublié, les fichiers datant de 4 ans)
Donc ce matin je m'y mets et là et bien...plantage d'explorer.exe après moulinage intensif du soft mais sans aucune information à l'écran !
Je viens de le désinstaller après une seconde tentative aboutissant au même résultat.
Pas franchement au point !

Ce logiciel promet plusieurs attaques puissantes sur vos archives. Puisque l’article donne peu de détails sur les méthodes utilisées, voici des explications plus approfondies pour que vous puissiez en comprendre le fonctionnement de fond en comble.
Attaque par force brute -
Le logiciel envoie un type costaud qui va tenter de donner plusieurs bêtes coups sur l’archive pour qu’elle dévoile son mot de passe. Il faut ici faire très attention puisque le type costaud pourrait potentiellement blesser l’archive, ce qui pourrait endommager ses fichiers intestinaux.
Attaque par masque -
Le logiciel essaie ensuite de revêtir un masque dans le but d’effrayer l’archive. Il s’agit ici d’un processus très délicat dans lequel le logiciel est déguisé et ne doit pas se faire reconnaître. L’archive, effrayée par le masque, croyant faire face à un monstre-virus, s’enfuira en courant, laissant le mot de passe derrière.
Attaque par dictionnaire –
Finalement, le logiciel peut faire recours au dictionnaire, un ouvrage fort épais et puissant, qui pourra assommer de façon plus efficace la méchante archive. Une fois l’archive convaincue, elle ouvrira alors le dictionnaire pour vous y pointer son mot de passe.

Bonjour,
Ce logiciel est très performant. J'ai crypté une archive .ZIP (mot de passe de 7 caractères, méthode de cryptage ZipCrypto, à l'aide de 7zip) contenant un document Word de deux pages et il m'a trouvé le mdp en un temps record.
De plus, je n'ai eu aucun problème d'installation, ni d'activation. Je suis sous Windows 7 Édition Familiale Premium 64 bits.
Ce logiciel se révèlera très pratique étant plutôt tête en l'air.

Activation: après lancement de Activate.exe, le logiciel devient registered/enregistré.
J'ai lancé Activate.exe avec KRyLack Archive Password Recovery fermé.
