If you want to be like professionals use a package management like
Chocolatey, Code, Ninite, npm, Scoop, Winget
for macOS & Linux Homebrew
MOV , if you want to be like professionals you won't update software until you have to for security reasons as you may not have an active update subscription and you may not want to fix software that is not broken for you and you can make money from the use of software as it IS! Remember Microsofts penchant for drastically changing Office user interfaces requiring end users re-learn how to use the product and lose productivity as well as possibly adding a new raft of bugs in new UI and features.
