Yargis is a blending of old and new concepts in gaming. It is reminiscent of the games played on quarter arcade machines with its Asteroid-like mechanics and top down view, yet it also posseses 3D graphics and gravity physics found in modern games. It is family friendly, but also fun for all.
Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit system. The registration process is annoying with all personal data, starting from name and finishing with zip code and phone number.
A company with a name, a story combined with this name and an address on JeffComputers.
It's long ago, that I used flash cards on my studies at the university... there have been cards too: Hollerith punch cards for programming in COBOL or Fortran. Or the IBM 96 column punched card. Never let fall the "batch program" on the floor.
A simple interface opens, with non standard popup windows for additional information.
The value of this software is surely in the million of predefined study files, which you can download for free. So you don't need to program your flash cards by yourself. There are thousands of "quizlets" for physics or history. But... the description is insufficient, you need to check some thousand files, to find out, which is worth downloading for your studies. So you make the flash cards better by yourself...
About two hundred study files are delivered with this program, so you can immediately play and test around. That's good.
And if you make your onw flash cards. The learning process starts with the definition of question and answer. For sure.
Surely a good program for the young student, but also for the oldies for brain training. I will keep this software to see, what I can remember from studies long ago.
For brain training recommended also for non students. You can test your knowledge starting with
- search study sets -> history -> second entry "Turning points in american history -> 22 terms. And what was in 1763? oops!
Thank you GOTD and Jeff Minnis
No way I'm gonna give them my address & phone number to register!
Goodbye, StudyX.
Great software, but no privacy policy.
No privacy policy while installing or on the developer's site. If you are asking for personal information then you must have a privacy policy in place.
@Jeff Computers please post a privacy policy on your site before asking for personal information.
Paul (#4): STX is the file extension used for the set of flash cards, so once you've created a set, you can double click on them to open the program - much like you double click a .DOC file to open it in a Word Processor.
Sorry, as soon as it asked for address, tel number etc. I deleted it. They don't need this information for me to use the software so I'm not being forced into giving it.
oblige à fournir les infos dites complémentaires tel que n° de téléphone et adresse ?????
